“If you’re not doing these five things, you’re not doing UX.”

As the discipline of user experience (UX) evolves, and new definitions, trends, and practices emerge, it can be hard to understand how UX fits into your organization (agency, in-house, digital development shop, etc). In this talk, Rudy Berk gets back to basics, providing an overview of the five critical components of user experience. If you’re not doing them, then you’re not doing UX.
ABOUT RUDY: Rudy is the Director of User Experience (UX) for General Dynamics Mission Systems, where he leads an interdisciplinary team focused on optimizing products and systems for how users can, want, or need to work – rather than expecting users to change the way they work to accommodate the technology.
His team’s proven methods validate existing requirements while discovering and understanding the assumptions and expectations of the users. They ensure that technical constraints, visual design, usability, and system safety are balanced throughout the system development, saving both time and money, while assuring a user-friendly solution.
